Apparently I disturbed him when I got up at 430 in the morning to get ready for work! LOL

Peanut is quite the character sometimes. :-)

Ah, Thanksgiving is over and now we partake in shopping for Christmas, or Hanukkah, or whatever holiday you celebrate. Before I get into what I did on black friday, let me tell you Thanksgiving was great. The food was delish, the family was happy, and I even caught my dad and boyfriend snoozing while watching football, at the same time. After dinner, after Peanut had already recieved two helpings of Turkey. One of which was given to him by my brothers, and they just stuck a big chunk in his bowl, they didn't break it up. I also gave him a helping, which was small in size, and broken up in his bowl. But those two helpings of Turkey didn't stop him from performing the great Turkey heist while I was clearing the table. LOL... you see my older brother left his chair out which was right next to the Turkey. It gave Peanut the perfect opportunity to jump up onto the chair and onto the table, and away with another huge helping of Turkey. It was quite funny, and I couldn't be too upset because it was a holiday and we had already given him Turkey.

Friday I avoided shopping malls, and made a trip to Lusby, MD. It was a long trip, an hour drive to be exact. And down a small private road was The Solomon's Island Winery. I had been looking for a bottle of my new favorite wine. Blueberry Pinot Nior. But the liquor and wine stores near me only carried a couple of their wines, and claimed they would have to "special order" the blueberry one. So I decided to go there and get it myself. Especially since I was buying a couple bottles as gifts.

You wouldn't believe it, but this winery is operated out of someone's home! They had a driveway with extra spaces where you could park, and you followed a path around their swimming pool to get to the tasting room. In the back of the house there was a small patch of grape fines. I'm sure there were more somewhere else. The property used to grow tobacco, but as tobacco crops have become unpopular in Maryland, some locations are converting their tobacco farms into vineyards. I didn't know that until Friday, and there are about 5 vineyards in Maryland.

Solomon's Island Winery has a wide selection of wine, and I tried this Chocolate Wine....I wanna say sauce....it was so good and decadent. I may go back and get it another day, and use it with a dessert of some sort when I am feeling adventurous in a baking manor. Before we left between Mark and I, we had bought 6 bottles of various wines. And for purchasing as many as we did, we got this cute wine tote.

Lord knows if you are carry this thing, you mean to party! It has four compartments, and seems to be pretty strong. After the long trip I stayed home and lounged the rest of the day. I had to wake up pretty early for work this morning, so doing a lot was out of the question.

Well I have a pretty long week ahead of me. And then Friday through Monday I will be away on a short vacation in the Bahamas. It will be nice to get away for a weekend.

November 24th, 2008

Well, there are only a few more days till Thanksgiving, AND.... 11 more days till I am in the Bahamas sitting in the sand.

On my walk tonight with Peanut I noticed the city had hung their Christmas decor up just a few days early, which I have been seeing a lot of. I guess people are trying to find a way to bring joy to their life, when it seems that maybe things just aren't going right. I mean the economy is in the crapper, apparently gas prices will shoot back up to over $3 again (it's at $1.79 in my area), people are loosing homes, banks are going under. My whole take on this crappy situation that the entire world is in, is that somewhere someone got greedy. But enough about that, let's see the pic!

Sorry the pic isn't so great, my phone takes crappy pics at night. Hopefully I will remember to grab my camera next time so that I can share with you just how pretty these snowflakes are.

This morning when I got up and left for work I grabbed my cup of chocolate soy milk. Mmmm... I have a dairy allergy so I drink soy milk instead of regular milk. The proteins in milk, whey and casein, cause me to break out in an itchy rash. I've had this allergy all my life, and I always have to clarify the difference between lactose intolerance and a dairy allergy. Some people even think that being lactose intolerant is having a dairy allergy, but the fact is they have problems processing dairy, as where with my allergy I can process dairy fine, it just makes me break out. Some people have worse reactions, like trouble breathing and some sort of organ failure, which makes their allergy much worse. I can manage my allergy pretty well, by limiting the amount of dairy I eat/drink (dairy is a staple in American food, good luck not ingesting any) and by taking allergy meds year round.

But I digress from what I was talking about.... I was drinking my soy milk while at work (while typing this) and I noticed a funny odor coming from my drinking glass. It has a lid, so that I can transport my drink without spilling. Overnight, the lid had absorbed the smell of onions (yuck) while in the fridge. The onion smell came from a steak and cheese my dad had for dinner, and it filled the fridge with the smell. My soy milk tastes fine, the smell of onions when I take a drink is quite unnerving.

My friend Ashleigh has started posting pics from the photographer at her wedding on her myspace and this one surfaced of Mark and I. It's a great pic, but I should have smiled more. Truth was I was eating cake, and didn't want to smile and have cake stuck to my teeth somewhere. LOL

Mark and I at Ashleigh and Leos Wedding Reception. 3

Here's another one, it's of the dance floor. I have no idea what I was doing, possibly dancing. But if I were to judge from the pic, it looks like I am trying to shout something, or elbow my invisible friend. LOL My friend Jill and the bride, Ashleigh, are in the pic too.

Well today is my day off and I got to see some snow flurries today as I was taking Peanut to the groomers. I recorded the video from the inside of my car. A little bit later I will be heading to my best friend's house for dinner. Should be fun!!

Today I also got in the mail one of the items from my picture store, a calendar.

I think it turned out great!!!

Oh if you want to check out my picture store there is a link to the right of my blog. And there is a sale going on this weekend!

One of my favorite past times at work, when I run out of work, is to browse the Perez Hilton web blog. Yup, it helps pass the time, and you can sometimes read juicy things about celebs, and look at funny pics. Though I will say it primarily feeds the voyeur in me. Sometimes looking into someone Else's life can be pretty interesting. So Perez is having a little "vote for your fave" thing, and I thought I would share my answers here.

Yesterday we had snow flurries! By the time I grabbed my camera to video the first snow flurries of winter, it was too late! They had ended. I'm sure there will be more, the temp this AM as I rose out of bed, slipped on my slippers and took Peanut outside, was a chilly 20 degrees. I actually didn't feel much difference when I opened the door for the UPS guy just a few minutes ago. So when it's chilly, I grab my warmest shoes..... Sweater Boots... and all day long I have toasty toes.

This week I embarked on the adventure of brushing Peanut's teeth. He has some mild tartar build up, and I bought a tooth brushing kit. The first day was kind of funny. I let him open the box of tooth goodies, which included a toothbrush, a finger brush, and doggy toothpaste. I let him sniff everything, and then I placed a small amount of toothpaste on my finger. I put out my finger to let him smell it and he ran to the other side of the room. Which I thought was hilarious. I picked him, and held my finger in front of his nose once more and he tried to wiggle his way out of my grasp. It wasn't until I stuck my finger with the toothpaste in his doggy mouth that he realized, "hey, this tastes good!" Tonight I will go through this all over again.

Speaking of Peanut, my fuzzy buddy received boxes in the mail occasionally and this time he got one from a schnauzer named Max. Max sent him some toys, some chewy things, and treats. And he sent him a lovely blue sweater for when it's cold. Mind you right now Peanut doesn't need the sweater too much because he is in desperate need of a haircut. You can't see his eyes, and all the fur around his ears makes them look tiny. I put the sweater on him a couple nights ago when we went for our nightly walk, and in protest he sat down every couple of feet. I'm trying to accustom him to wearing sweaters for winter, so it's an ongoing process. He fights me every year, but as it gets colder, he will eventually bring me his coat. Last night he wore the bomber jacket my older brother got him for Christmas last year. He still fought me, but at least there was no protesting while walking.

I'm almost 100%. This cold really kicked my butt! I still have some congestion and coughing, it's like it won't let go. But I'm sure it will be over with soon.

So December 5th through the 8th I will be taking a brief weekend trip with Mark to the Bahamas on a cruise. I'm looking forward to it even though at first I really wasn't looking forward to taking a vacation because I felt it was not in my budget this year. But this is a short trip and somehow I will make it work. Plus I would have much preferred he saved this $$ and put it toward our trip to Italy next year, which we are supposedly taking. Oh well, his heart was in the right place.

It's been a couple weeks since my friend Ashleigh's wedding, and some pics from the wedding are starting to surface. Like pics from the camera that was on our table! It was a disposable camera, and we took a few pics at our table. Here are two that are my fave that I got of Ashleigh's Myspace. I have yet to see the pics from her professional photographer(s) that were taken, but I'm sure they will surface eventually.

Here's Mark and I!

And you can't go wrong with throwing a funny face pic into the mix! As for the guy in white, as the night progressed he got louder as he got drunker and was eventually shouting in my face. LOL... Ashleigh has a wonderful pic of him acting silly and you can see on my face how annoyed I am. I chose to not post that one.

I've been MIA all week, because I have had the worst head cold ever. I'm starting to feel like myself again, so I am sure you will see more posts soon. Just wanted to let you know, I am still alive. LOL

So Friday I went to the Baltimore Aquarium with Mark. We had a pretty good time, and saw lots of things. Here are some of the pics!

The water in the Harbour at sunset!

Such a happy aligator!

Mmmm.. whatcha eatin?!

Turtle chillin on some rocks.

Bubble tube before you enter the aquarium part after the rainforest part.

This is a sting ray and the poisonous barb is waht killed Steve Irwin. I swam with them once when I visited the Caymen Islands... it was interesting.

This sea turtle was missing a limb!

Best pic I could get of the octopus, he was movin all over the place.

Poisonous Dart Frog Exhibit..... Mark assured me that when he goes to Peru, he will avoid the frogs.

The Harbour at night!

And what trip wouldn't be complete without a short vid of the Dolphin High Jump! While I enjoyed the Dolphin show at the aquarium, I couldn't help but to think the show in the Bahamas was way better!

Ok, well that's all for this post. I have a terrible cold and I am having issues focussing. I plan on putting all pics I took together in a book, that I will place up in my picture store for sale shortly. I want to make sure I edit all the pics so that the colors stand out more, just as I have done with these pics. Sometimes when you take pics though glass, the vibrance of a blue is dulled.

I don't really have anything to post today, so I thought I would share with you one of my favorite songs. It's by Death Cab for Cutie, and it's call I Will Possess Your Heart.

I'm hoping that today I will get to go to the Baltimore Aquarium with Mark. I haven't been since I was like 10 and a lot has changed in 17 years. LOL.. Mark was so funny when he found out that I hadn't been in a long time on Sunday while at Ashleigh's wedding reception. He goes pretty often sometimes with his niece Madison, and his brother Mike.

Hopefully we still go, depending on how tired he is from work, and I get some great pics to share with you later.

Well unless you were under a rock yesterday and last night, you know that Sen. Barack Obama is President-elect of the US. Congrats to him! This is one for the History books. He, as any President before him, has a big job ahead of him, and only time will tell if this was in fact the right choice. I'm optimistic that he will do a good job, but like I said only time will tell. And nothing happens over-night!

Now before you go leaving hateful comments (If anyone feels compelled to) on this blog please note that it will not be tolerated by me one bit. You have a right to your opinion, yes, but you also should be respectful.

OK and last but not least I have an adorable pic I have to share with you. My boss recently got a puppy, it's a shitzu/poodle mix, and his name is Gizmo. My boss sent me this pic yesterday of Gizmo sitting on his desk with the caption, "Gizmo took over my desk!" It's too cute.

Today the United States of America embarks on making history. Anytime a new President takes office it makes history, but this year history may include a first. Either the first Black President, or the first woman Vice President. Now, I am not getting into any kind of political discussion, but I am going to ask you to get out there and VOTE! I don't care who you vote for, it's your choice, but at the end of the day we are all Americans. I will be taking my turn at the voting booth after work, I drove past my election site and it was packed.

Have you ever wondered what your pet dreams about when they are sleeping? I mean come on! I think they dream while sleeping, we do. I have heard a variety of things that Peanut does while sleeping... barking in his sleep, sniffing really loudly in his sleep. But I think my favorite thing of all is when his feet move. It cracks me up. I bet he dreaming about getting a hold of those squirrels that keep intruding in his backyard!

Watch the feet!!!

This weekend was a busy one for me and I am still quite tired, but it's all good.

Saturday I decided that it was such a nice day that I washed my car. I hadn't washed my car in about 6 months, so it pretty much was overdue. I know, I'm lazy when it comes to that thing. So as I washed my car and listened to the radio, I didn't realize the battery was getting low. So low that i needed a jump start to get it out of the driveway. Now I have done this plenty of times before and I have never needed a jump start. I guess it's my sign to get a new car battery before winter hits. Darn!

Sunday I had to get up early for work, but I was so rejuvenated with that extra hour of sleep I got it didn't even matter. I also had a wedding to attend on Sunday. And let me tell you, after getting out of work, stopping home to walk Peanut, then heading to Mark's to eat and roll out, we made it to the church just as the bride was walking down the isle. I was so embarrassed, but what could I do? Quickly find a place to sit. The ceremony was over in about 15 minutes (quickest wedding ceremony I have ever seen) and we headed over to the reception site, and of course since the wedding was so short we were early! LOL

The reception was nice and the food was de-lish. Here are the pics I took, there weren't very many, I was goofing off with the disposable camera left on our table for the Bride and Groom to look through later.

The Bride, Ashleigh and I. She was lovely! (terrible angle for me, but whatever)

My friend Jill and I. She just had a baby on October 4th and was looking great. She was part of the Bridal party. (Jill is super short)

You may notice something different at the bottom of my blog posts. It's just a little thing for you to tell me what you liked about the blog post and pics. Feel free to click the little buttons!!
