So I have another book for you.  I am a reading machine sometimes!
I love a good story, and I also love a good ghost story.  I heard about this book on a radio program that runs on the radio station I work at, the program is the Mel Robbins Show.  I like it.  Mel can be very inspiring.  She is a life coach, and does her show our of the Borders Book Store in Boston.

So the topic that day was ghosts, and the author was on talking about the book and the work she does with the TV Show Ghost Whisperer.  The book sounded interesting enough and I totally added it to my wish list.  I'm a firm believer in ghosts, and have had my own experiences.  Like when I went to my uncle's funeral and saw my grandfather (who happens to be deceased) standing next to my uncle's casket.  Crazy right?  Totally a true story!
The Book of Illumination: A Novel from the Ghost Files

The name of the book is The Book of Illumination: A Novel from the Ghost Files.  You follow around this single mom as she helps people and ghosts, and some of it is pretty interesting.  Though the parts where she is talking with the ghosts and people is kind of cheesy like the Ghost Whisperer show, but still fun.  I liked this book, it is definitely staying on the keeper shelf of my bookshelf.
Well, I am off to read another.
P.S. I am totally looking forward to the 80 degree weather coming our way at the end of the week!  SO excited!

Apparently it's one of those Mondays. My work computer looked like this when I got in. Luckily when I restarted it, it went back to normal.

Oh and the crazy person I work with felt the need to send my boss a two page email telling him that I "messed with the white board."  I did not mess with the white board in Master Control.  And getting accused of things I have not done, is getting really old.   Come on new job! (Still no word from Radio One.....and my interview was in January! Is it really that hard to say yes or no?  I would prefer the yes, but if I get a no at least I can get back to applying and stuff. *sigh*)

Happy Monday!

I got a little spring fever, so I moved some stuff around.

I moved the dresser by the end of the bed, by the tv. Moved the bookshelf to where the the dresser used to be. And I completely under estimated how much crap I have.

Peanut the whole time supervised to make sure his toys stayed safe.

My mom gave me a little bit of spring.

Good thing too, because the temp dropped this weekend and it felt like winter. At least the sun is out today. Yesterday was cloudy and rainy.

I just downloaded an app to my phone that allows me to post blogs. Before I was sending posts via email, and editing and posting via the web on my phone. This is going to make posting so much easier from my phone!

Sorry. Had gush.    :-)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another e-book review. How could I not with this one. The name of the e-book is Black Silk, and it is very much like the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse novels, without the vampires. This book does have some adult content, so I would not suggest you let your teenager read it. It has some romance and some drama, and a were panther. You follow this young lady who is very average and hasn't found mister right, until she sees a gas station getting held up.

You can go here, and download the e-book if you have a few moments to sit back and read. Since it only has about 15 chapters, it's a quick read.

Speaking of Charlaine Harris and the Sookie Stackhouse novels, book 10 comes out May 4th..... I cannot wait. And True Blood on HBO starts on June 13th...... and if you are wondering, True Blood, and the Sookie Stackhouse novels are more adult themed than the teenage-angst driven Twilight books/movies. I tried to read the books, and I tried to watch the movie... frankly Twilight is not my cup of tea.

Why a pic of a Starbucks cup? Well, yesterday Starbucks had a free pastry day. I liked it, I got a free muffin with my Chai Tea that morning. I would like to commend Starbucks for this. When I saw the coupon on Facebook, they had me at FREE. I hope they do more of this, because I think it could be very good for business. But then again I don't see how Starbucks has trouble with business. Kudos to you, Starbucks. I thoroughly enjoyed my free muffin.

Also, I live fairly close to Washington D.C. Like, 30 minutes close. And I love all the museums, and what not, but tourists can be a little crazy. Especially since the Cherry Blossom Festival is about to start. So occasionally while driving I see huge motorcades transporting some political person somewhere (the State Capital, Annapolis, is where a lot of officials go for official business and where the Governor lives.). Imagine my surprise when I spotted Air Force One flying over Route 50. How do I know it was Air Force One? Well the huge American flag on the tail kind of gave it away, as well as "United States of America" on the side of the plane. I have no idea if the President of Vice President was on it. The President or VP will fly out of Andrews Air Force Base, which is also 30 minutes from where I live.

There is actually more that one Air Force One. Sometimes they use the other as a decoy so that the President can surprise people or be undercover if we aren't supposed to know where he is. I watched a thing about it on the History Channel once.

E-book review.... this is a first!

So on my phone, via a book reading app, I read my first E-book. Dead(ish) is a charming short story about a dead woman who has lost her body. It was actually quite funny all this things the woman would do her boyfriend, who just happened to have killed her.

So if you are interested in reading this short story, go here. The e-book was free, so it won't cost you a penny. And frankly, we all could use a little free.

I'm off to read another e-book, because when you are low on funds, free makes the world a better place.

Say Hello to my new phone, the HTC Hero from Sprint. It was love at first touch! The HTC Hero is a touch screen phone with the android operating system. I really love it. I can access everything and even post blogs from my phone now. I have one calendar I use now, that syncs with my google calendar. Email is right there, fully readable, and writable.

I recently downloaded a free app that lets you read books on your phone. And most books are free!

I have had this phone a month, and love it. I totally recommend this phone when I get the opportunity. Mark wanted me to get an Iphone, and yea it's cool. But I really dislike AT&T. I had them long ago, and we were not happy with each other. My Bill kept changing every month, and customer service was rude when I would call and want to know why. I never went over my minutes, i never went over my texts. It would just change and there would be no reason for it. I'm sure that they have made some changes since I had them, but I am happy with Sprint. That's why when I saw this phone, I knew I had to try it.

I look forward to a very long and happy relationship with my phone.

Book Review: Mistress of the Art of Death

I started reading this months ago.... I have gotten bored with it and can't finish it. It sounded interesting..... but I feel maybe the author put a tad too much detail into this book. When I am reading and get bogged down by details, I loose interest really quickly.

Into the donation pile this one goes!

Tonight's adventure in cooking is brought to you by the letter B, for broke. Ha ha.

Tonight I was craving the awesomeness that is the Aweshack. They are a Afghan kabob place that is delicious. But I sent some extra cash to my credit card, so my wants are limited to what is in the pantry.

I decided to make some pasta, and used the jar of sun dried tomato alfredo. I hate jarred alfredo....it lacks the quality of real alfredo. The chicken I cut up and cooked was perfect. And I thougt it could be fun to add some corn to the mix. Well.......it's not the best thing I have ever cooked, and not the worst. It's dinner. It's sweet because of the corn, but I think I would have been better off without the jarred alfredo.

Oh well, live and learn.

Oh and Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone!

I need this poster-size, so I can hang it up at work.

Can you tell I'm feeling a little saucy today?

Come on new job! Btw, positive thinking and prayers please? I'm waiting on hearing back for a job I know I can do and totally deserve. I have been waiting for over a month, and no decision yet, but I'm still a contender for. Thanks, I need all the prayers I can get.

You need to be a certain caliber of crazy to work in broadcasting. Some should be committed, such as my coworker. He hates when I use the number lock on the keyboard for the keypad with all the numbers in one spot. Well gues what?
