I found this picture online of a painting of bamboo, and I really like it. I immidiately saved it to my computer and then uploaded to Sprint's picturemail site, so that I could send it to my cell phone and use as a screensaver. It's so much cheaper that way!

Which makes me wonder why it is that cell phone companies charge so much for things like screensavers, and games. Just last night I paid for a $7 game for my phone, I played it some, found I didn't much care for it. It was pac-man, I honestly thought it would be a winner, but the mobile version is just not good enough for me. So I logged into my account to request a refund, and they said no, I had reached my limit of 5 per year. Which blew me away because last I checked it was two per billing cycle... when did it change? I haven't bought a game in forever! I guess I'm stuck with pac-man, which can't be all bad...... right?

Now I was on the search for pictures of Bamboo, which I'm thinking I may use as the cover for my book I am putting together. It's just a bunch of poems I have written, nothing really grand. I think I will just take a picture of my neighbor's bambo in their yard, and use that so that I am not infrindging on anyone's work. And with self publishing, it all can be done. But while I was searching the web of images, I came across shoes.

I have a love of shoes, as evident from my profile pic on here. And these Gucci flats I really like, but alas, are way out my budget....

Punch Buggy Red!!! LOL... I was sitting at a stop light this AM on my way into work when I saw that I was behind a VW bug. As a kid my older brother and I would play "Punch Buggy" except without the hitting. It was fun, and now there are fewer and fewer of these cars on the road... But whenever I see one I am sure to take a pic with my phone and send it to him with the caption punch buggy and the color... He doesn't think it's that funny. I think it's hilarious.

In other news, the Israeli lady I work with by assembling a show that is entirely in Hebrew, sent me chocolate as a way of saying thanks. She has been pushing my patience lately and I think she knew it... Mmmmmmmmm..........

Well, overall the vet visit was a good one. Peanut has a mild amount of tartar build up, but that can be remedied with a little bit of doggie dental care...i.e. the doggy tooth brush. Next time I am in Petco I will pick one up. That should be fun to attempt to do, LOL.... Peanut handled the visit well. What was funny was that while the tech was holding him during the shots, he started licking her repeatedly. She thought he was giver her kisses, I had to break it to her that he wanted her to let him go. Sometimes in the morning when he is done snuggling and wants to get up but I don't, I will put my arms around him. He will lick me until I let go... it's cute..

Peanut spent the rest of the day sleeping, and getting up to drink a lot of water (side effect from the shots) and going outside to potty. I was happy to know that there weren't any other effects, and before I left for th evening I instructed my parents to pick up his water dish at 8 pm, so that he doesn't have an accident because he drank too much water. They complained breifly that I was cruel by removing the water, but followed through.

Mark and I got to Buffalo Billiards before Cindy, which was no biggie. She was only a block away when I called her to see where she was. It was a pretty good time, the only damper was that the bar turned on the Presidential debate. It seemed the suck the life out of the room. While the debate is important, someone could have Tivo's or DVR'd it and watched later. I had a couple drinks, but didn't get terribly tipsy. Which is awesome, because I really didn't want to get drunk.

I'll be in bed soon, I have to wake up early for work on Sunday.... 430 am comes awful quickly!

Today Peanut gets his yearly shots.... my wallet is not looking forward to this. But it has to be done. I know he will sleep for a couple hours when we get home, but that will be from the anti-histamine shot he will get with his yearly shots. Mostly because if he doesn't get it he gets super lumpy....poor lumpy buddy! Ha ha. I won't have much to do, so I'm pretty sure he will be snuggled up next to me.

Tonight I have Cindy's birthday celebration! It should be fun, I don't know if I will get as tipsy as at the wine festival, but either way I can't wait. I will have a full report on that as well as pictures Saturday.

In the spirit of fall, and the fact that October is right around the corner, here is a little something to get us all in the spirit. It's Peanut's halloween picture from last year (07), he was Count Peanut-cula!!!

This is a very unique picture... Mom found this in the stuff that belonged to her mom, my grandmother. It's a picture of from the newpaper (I'm not sure which one) of a street in DC that came to stand still when the news that WWII was over was announced. If you look at the picture you may notice that on the right side there is a couple that has been circled. Mom stopped to think about why they were circled and as she looked closer she realized that was a picture of her mother and father, my grandparents.

Kind of cool!

The three free kitties that need new homes.... Hopefully the flier I put up in the Vet's office (if they let me) will help find them new homes.

I'm feeling the pinch of the penny... Just the other day my boyfriend said we were going somewhere in December. Normally any kind of trip excites me, but not this year. I have had a rough time with money this year, mostly because I have had to pay for big $$ items. Such as new tires, new eye glasses and contacts, renew car registration, new brakes with new wheel sensor, and this coming Friday Peanut gets his yearly shots.

I'm so worried that I won't be able to save up enough cash for when we go on vacation. Not that I would have to pay for anything, but I do have bills to come home to, and I don't get paid vacations at my job. Hence my fervent search for a new radio job that includes paid vacations, health insurance, and quite possibly sick days. One of those I can live without... Can you guess it's the sick days? LOL.. Hopefully I will be able to work something out, and pull through. Besides I don;t want to tell him "no I can't go on a week away with you in Decmeber because I am broke." Especially since he will be gone the entire month of January, as he travels with his brother through South America. I love that they set aside time for each other... I don't like that he will be missing my birthday. Same thing happened last year when he traveled to China, Thailand, and Australia in January. I was miserable to say the least....

Moving on.. if you are at all interested, between now and September 30th, 2008, if you use the promo code temple while checking out when purchasing something from my picture store, you will get 30% off. It doesn't last long and I am all about sales. If you happen to miss this one, it's ok. I'm sure there will be other sales, and I will be sure to inform you.

Last but not least, I have convinced my older brother to let me put together a flyer to possibly hang in the vets office on Friday, so that he can find new homes for 3 of his 5 cats. He has come to realize that is too many cats for one person, and has chosen which three get new homes. Hopefully it helps and he finds them new homes....

I work at a radio station, and today one of our host had a special guest, the Comptroller of Maryland. This isn't the first time he's had a Maryland Government official, a while back he had the Lt. Governor on. My question though is, why do these guys assume I know who they are? Are they that full of themselves that they can't stand there and be like, "Hi, I'm so-and-so, and I am hear for the Al Redmer show." At least the Comptroller said thank you before he left.

I guess it's harder for them because so many people actually don't expect an introduction, but I do! Don't assume I know who you are... it makes you look like an ass.

On another note, we have scarecrows out in front of our house, and at 530 am Sunday when I was leaving for work, I thought someone was lurking in the darkness. LOL... it was really the scarecrows!

September 17th, 2008

I haven't posted anything recently and I haven't had much time to pull out the camera. Work, my side projects, and life in general are making it difficult for free time. I do manage to walk my dog everyday for a half an hour and relish in the peace it brings.

I pray everyday and search for a new radio job in Maryland, so that I can get away from my co-worker. If you knew him, you would understand. I think if you look up the word Douchebag in the dictionary there would be a picture of him. He constantly talks down to everyone and thinks he is everyone's boss. Today was exceptional when he tried to make a new program we are running affidavit's go through him instead of our boss. The boss quickly had to correct him.... it's the small things that make me smile.

Speaking of things that make me smile, here is a pic I took with my cell phone last week when I went to the County Fair. Enjoy!! Hopefully I will have some new pics after this weekend's adventure at a Wine Festival.

This is just a little bit of self-promoting! I currently have a picture store. There are quite a few items in there. A couple calendars, some posters, picture books. As a hobby I love to take pictures, and when the website I used to make picture products started offering a way to sell those items to others, I jumped on the wagon. As I take more pictures, I plan on making more items. So stop on by and visit my picture store! You can click this link, or the picture below! The picture below is actually one of my posters, it's a teenager's dream come true.

I really have to give it to my boyfriend, he sure knew how to cheer me up after a long day at work. We went to the county fair and rode the farris wheel, got some funnel cake, and watch a horse pull. It was AMAZING!! I have never seen a horse pull before!

So here is what my spider bite looks like today!

I think it is getting better, even though it's still really itchy, and super red. Why do I think it's getting better? It's smaller in size. Or that could just be the Mexican hydrocortizone cream working that I picked while in Mexico, December of 2007.

So I saw something really interesting while walking Peanut yesterday. Someone had moved out of their house, and left a FREE piano on the front porch!

Not the best picture I know, Peanut was trying to pull me down the sidewalk, as if to say "Come on! Let's walk already!"

If the dashboard of your car lights up with 3 specific lights, like in the pic below, you may have one of two problems. 1. Bad wheel sensor. 2. Broken wire going to the wheel sensor.

In my case it was a bad wheel sensor, and as I found out today, it's very expensive to fix.
