We had a very foggy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did. I had good food, family around, and a relaxing day.

The other day I noticed this on this guy vehicle. His side mirror looks a little funky, which make me wonder, how can he see through that if at all?

November 25th, 2009

I am awaiting a small box with the word SEPHORA written across it. Even though I have a slightly large ER bill from when I went to see them after half my face stopped moving, I indulged a little. And part of the reason for that indulgence is the anticipation that one day soon my left eye will close all the way again, I can start wearing my contacts again, and dip my brushes into the palettes of colors that will once again grace my lids. Plus every once in a while you need a pick me up.....

Now what did I buy?

I bought Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Shadow Duo - Petal / Plum. It looked really interesting and really who could say no to trying this:

What it is:
A revolutionary perfecting eyeshadow that dramatically minimizes the signs of aging.

What it does:
Unlike typical eyeshadows that can accentuate fine lines and crepiness, this advanced formulation of 48 minerals (a silk peptide-soy lipid complex that helps to moisturize and firm eyelids) and Halo's patented hydration system improves the texture and overall appearance of lids while imparting beautiful, soft color. The innovative packaging allows you to twist the top and shave off the perfect amount of base and crease shadow every time.

Research Results:
-In 10 minutes, eyelids appear 60% smoother and firmer
-In 4 weeks, eyelids appear 98% less crepey.

I think it warrants a test... don't you?

But that's not the only thing that will be in the box. Since I am a fan of Sephora on Facebook, they let there fans in on a little treat. Spend $25 and you get this tote bag(TOTE09 is the code and I have no idea how long it will last):

I don't exactly need this bag, but I want it. And it could become useful to me. Especially when I take my trip to Italy this January. Oh yea.... I forgot to mention that. This year's Christmas/Birthday gift from Mark to me is a trip to Italy. I will be meeting him there. I'm really excited about it. I've never been to Rome, and we are going to see a lot of stuff. Most of which he has already seen, but it will still be fun. It will be like having my own personal tour guide. Ha ha.

I'll have a full product review with pics once everything gets here.

On the recovery front, I'm seeing more movement in my face on the left. It's a slow recovery, but I'm grateful I am recovering.

There's something wrong with Mark's dishwasher. Well the sink would be a little more accurate. You know that strange knob thing on the sink that sucks in air while the dishwasher drains (or I think that's what it does)? Well, his broke and now when the dishwasher drains any water during wash cycle, there's a fountain. The first time I saw this it made me laugh really hard, and it still makes me chuckle.

I recorded a little video here on my laptop for you, with an update on my Bell's Palsy. This way you can see the small improvements I have going on. Peanut even makes an appearance!

Someone else hopped the rewrite bandwagon for Jane Austin Novels, and now there is a charming book called Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. At first I found this book really hard to read, but I had a lot of crap going on (car issues, shingles in my ear, Lucia's wedding, and Bell's Palsy). As I got to about the midway point I couldn't put this book down. Sometimes I found I had to read over a sentence or two due to the fact that it is a Jane Austin novel, but I still really enjoyed reading it.

I'm really starting to find that book rewrites of classics are quite amusing and I want more. But I will say this, when my cousin suggested that I read Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, I thought he was kidding. In fact I sent him a text message that said, "Holy crap! Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters is a real book. I thought you were kidding."

I took this pic Sunday. It's Mark and his roommate's dog Lotti. It was just funny that he was mimicking Lotti who constantly looks out the window, like a kid who can't go out to play.

I wanted to do a video update on my Bell's Palsy, but that didn't turn out too well. So I am not posting that.

I have had some small improvements. Chewing is easier, and that is good when I eat. I made a cheek muscle move, and can still make it move. And last but not least, I made the corner of my mouth move a smidgen when I was trying to smile.

This recovery, I'm sure, is slower than grass growing, but even the smallest things are huge.

I'm having a Friday the 13th kind of morning! Payroll screwed up and I didn't get my pay, so I had to go to the bank to find out what I can do about the 3 payments I sent out today for my car, my cell, and one of my credit cards. They made some phone calls and now I am waiting for my boss to email me a letter saying Payroll screwed up so that I can fax it to my bank so that they will pay my bills and wave the overdraft fees.

But check out this cute Christmas ornament mom gave me....a little early, but it totally reminds me of someone who is short and furry!

Ok, so I am 14 into having Bell's Palsy and I'm more than ready for this to be over. 3 to 6 weeks until I am better is too long. I do my goofy face exercises every hour like I am supposed to. But I'm just ready to be able to smile again. Oh and wear my contacts again. Right now I can't wear them because my left eye doesn't close all the way.

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. It's hard to be inspired when you feel kind of crappy.

Even though I really dislike all pictures taken of me right now because I have Bell's Palsy, I think this one is kind of cute. It's from Lucia's wedding, and in order from left to right is Cindy, Lucia, and myself.

Just in case you are wondering what happens to your face with Bell's Palsy, let me show you.

I'm not real comfortable putting these pictures up, but someone else may be going through this.

This is what I look like when I move my mouth. Only the right side moves. It is pretty difficult to eat sometimes, but as long as I take my time and take small bites, I'm ok. I haven't bit my tonge yet, but I have bit my cheek. Ouch!

I can't close my right eye all the way, and at night I have to put a small piece of guaze and paper tape over it to keep it closed. This way no dirt or anything like that gets in there while I sleep. It look weird, and I am really glad this is temporary. I will be so happy when I can finally smile and close my eye again.

So yesterday was Lucia's wedding and she was lovely and the whole thing was lovely. I didn't take pictures, because I was too busy doing the maid of honor thing. But I came up with a creative way to decorate with my hair pin from the wedding.

Nice right? Looks like it belongs there.

And my bouquet from the wedding is now sitting in a vase in my room. So bright and cheery!
