Have you ever ordered something and really didn't like it, but at first thought it was pretty cool.  That's what happened when I ordered from Petedge.com a pair of wahl nail clippers that had a built in grinder.  After using it I decided it was pretty lame and wanted to return it.  So I called Petedge.com and got a return reference number and called it a day.  But wait... I have a bit of a gripe about Petedge.com.  Not only if you don't order $60 in stuff they slap you with a $7 packing fee, but if you happen to have any kind of return of any item you bought, you have to pay to ship it back.  It really wants to make me use them less and less.  Yea, Ryan's shipping may take a couple extra days to get here and you pay out the ass for it, but if they have a better return policy I'm using them instead.

Well, that's all I have for today.  I just needed to get that out there.  I know it's a rough economy and all, but I think that a customer should not have to pay for shipping on an item they are returning.  It's just poor customer service.

Today was very exciting.  As most of you know I live in Maryland and unless you live under a rock, you know that there was an earthquake in Virginia.  Virginia is south of us, and where the earthquake epicenter was is about 2 hours and 30 minutes away.  I was at work when the quake happened and let me tell you, it was a little scary.  Mostly because I work in a grooming salon and most of our "walls" are in fact glass windows.  It's like a fishbowl, where you can watch groomers groom dogs.  Everyone who had  a dog grabbed the dog that was on there table and went outside.   After a couple minutes we all went back in the building and resumed our day.

When I got home, mom filled me in that Peanut hid under the bed from the time of the quake until I got home.  Poor dude, he must have been scared.  When I walked into my room I assessed the damage, ha ha.  There wasn't any.  My brush fell off my dresser, and a couple picture frames fell off the bookshelf.  In all seriousness though, I hope those who were closer to the epicenter are ok, and no one was seriously injured.  That includes my internet friend Shari, her husband, and their Miniature Schnauzer, Bodie.

I just finished reading Blood on the Tracks, which is a story about the great railroad strike in America.  I liked it.  I was a piece of history that doesn't get covered in history books.  So many people died fighting for what was right after the railroad lowered pay and people couldn't live off those cuts.

Check it out!

We are  watching a little kitty in our salon. Some of the groomers are taking turns taking it home to watch it.
