I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I know I did. Mom enjoyed the toothpick holder I got her, Dad likes his new coat, my younger brother likes the cash I gave him, Mark liked the drawing I got him from Nemo, and my older brother liked his gift he got early.  I got my older some JT Pappy’s sauce, and sent it to him after Thanksgiving.  I got a really pretty necklace from Mom and Dad, and my younger brother got me some Ipod speakers.  Yay… I can totally use those at work.  Mark told me a while ago my Christmas gift was a trip to Italy, and for my Birthday I get to eat dinner in Italy…I can’t wait.  Here are a few pics from Christmas Day!

Peanut enjoying his new bed, apparently it’s just he wanted from Santa Paws because he totally loves it and sleeps in it.

This is the necklace from Mom and Dad.  I love it!

It’s hard to believe that Italy is just 16 days away.  I have to find some chee py boots to take that are similar to my Steve Maddens, so that they don’t get ruined.  I also want to find a nice dress or something to wear out to eat on the night of my birthday.  Lord knows I already feel like the luckiest gal in town!

Man, I am ready for all this snow to melt.  It’s pretty and all, but there is just so much of it.  Plus Peanut is none too happy that the grass is completely covered.

It's like someone turned on the snow machine, and broke the stop button.

And it isn't going to stop until late tonight, early Sunday morning.

This is a recipe I got a while back from Live.Love.Eat. I made it this past weekend for the Potluck/gift exchange. Sooooo yummy!!

Amaretto Truffle Bars

Chocolate Layer Ingredients:
4 (1-oz)squares bittersweet chocolate baking bars
6 (1-oz)squares semi-sweet chocolate baking bars
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Filling Ingredients:
3 tblsp instant vanilla pudding & pie filling mix
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 tblsp amaretto liqueur*
1 tblsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar

Topping Ingredients:
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa

Line 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges. Combine baking bars, 1/3 cup butter & whipping cream in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until smooth. Reserve 1 cup mixture; set aside. Spread remaining chocolate mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. Freeze until set (about 30 minutes).

Meanwhile, combine pudding mix, 1/4 cup melted butter, amaretto, milk & vanilla in large bowl; stir until well mixed. Add powdered sugar; beat at medium speed until smooth. Spread filling mixture over chocolate mixture in pan. Carefully pour reserved chocolate mixture over filling. Freeze until set (about 30 minutes).

Lift bars out of pan using foil; cut into 1" bars. Lightly sprinkle top of bars with cocoa. To serve, place bars in mini paper liners. Store in refrigerator.

*Substitute 3 tablespoons milk plus 1 teaspoon almond extract.

This past weekend Mark and I went to Lucia and Sean’s Potluck/gift exchange.  It was so much fun.  At some point Lucia got belligerently drunk and threatened Mark’s life if he ever hurt me.  The funny part, she doesn’t remember it.  She also did the same thing Janelle’s boyfriend.  Here are some of the pics from the evening.

I got a hair cut, and I like it. Though I am pretty sure the girl doing my hair was new tot he hair profession because I did not get the sensation of having my hair ripped from my scalp that usually happens when I see someone with more experience. Also it took her an hour and fifteen minutes.... I'm used to 30-45 minutes.

I have a product review for you.... take a look.

La Crème des Levres

What it is:
Give your make up bag a rest with a specially formulated cream gloss that provides the nourishing effect of a lip balm, the shine of a lip gloss and the coverage of a lipstick all in one!

What it is formulated to do:
La Creme des Levres offers a luxurious texture enriched with nourishing agents. Its non-sticky formula glides on smoothly with macadamia nut and sweet almond oils that provide high shine.

What else you need to know:
A light fragrance of sweet almond notes adds to the pleasure of experiencing this ultra-silky formula.

I love this lip cream! Seriously glad I bought it. My lips feel hydrated, and look fabulous. I bought the beige color, which is a very natural color on me. Most lip gloss/balms have a sticky feel and this one definitely does not. I love this so much, it now has a permanent home in my cosmetic bag.

I've gone against my golden rule while doing Christmas shopping..... I shopped for myself.

But with these fantastic soles, at a rediculously cheap price with free shipping, how could I not?

Yay, it's here. My little indulgence from Sephora. If you recall from this blog post, I bought this: Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Shadow Duo - Petal / Plum.

The container is really unique. The shadow is underneath this thing you turn and as you turn it it dispenses eye shadow. The colors are really soft and great for a daytime look.

Here is what the shadow looks like on me. Like I said it's really soft, and great for a daytime look.

Also in the box was my free tote bag. Yay!!

I love it already!

We had a very foggy Thanksgiving!

November 25, 2009

November 27th, 2009

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did. I had good food, family around, and a relaxing day.

The other day I noticed this on this guy vehicle. His side mirror looks a little funky, which make me wonder, how can he see through that if at all?

November 25th, 2009

I am awaiting a small box with the word SEPHORA written across it. Even though I have a slightly large ER bill from when I went to see them after half my face stopped moving, I indulged a little. And part of the reason for that indulgence is the anticipation that one day soon my left eye will close all the way again, I can start wearing my contacts again, and dip my brushes into the palettes of colors that will once again grace my lids. Plus every once in a while you need a pick me up.....

Now what did I buy?

I bought Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Shadow Duo - Petal / Plum. It looked really interesting and really who could say no to trying this:

What it is:
A revolutionary perfecting eyeshadow that dramatically minimizes the signs of aging.

What it does:
Unlike typical eyeshadows that can accentuate fine lines and crepiness, this advanced formulation of 48 minerals (a silk peptide-soy lipid complex that helps to moisturize and firm eyelids) and Halo's patented hydration system improves the texture and overall appearance of lids while imparting beautiful, soft color. The innovative packaging allows you to twist the top and shave off the perfect amount of base and crease shadow every time.

Research Results:
-In 10 minutes, eyelids appear 60% smoother and firmer
-In 4 weeks, eyelids appear 98% less crepey.

I think it warrants a test... don't you?

But that's not the only thing that will be in the box. Since I am a fan of Sephora on Facebook, they let there fans in on a little treat. Spend $25 and you get this tote bag(TOTE09 is the code and I have no idea how long it will last):

I don't exactly need this bag, but I want it. And it could become useful to me. Especially when I take my trip to Italy this January. Oh yea.... I forgot to mention that. This year's Christmas/Birthday gift from Mark to me is a trip to Italy. I will be meeting him there. I'm really excited about it. I've never been to Rome, and we are going to see a lot of stuff. Most of which he has already seen, but it will still be fun. It will be like having my own personal tour guide. Ha ha.

I'll have a full product review with pics once everything gets here.

On the recovery front, I'm seeing more movement in my face on the left. It's a slow recovery, but I'm grateful I am recovering.
